UNDER CERTAIN DRIVING CONDITIONS, INCLUDING EXTENDED SEVERE BRAKING, THE WHEEL BEARING AREA MAY ENCOUNTER TEMPERATURES THAT CAN CAUSE THE GREASE TO MIGRATE OUT OF THE BEARING AREA. THIS WILL REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF LUBRICATION AVAILABLE TO THE BEARINGS AND RESULT IN FRONT WHEEL BEARING FAILURE AND SPINDLE DAMAGE. Remedy: THE DEALER WILL REPLACE THE FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS AND ASSOCIATED PARTS ON ALL INVOLVED VEHICLES FREE OF CHARGE.

VEHICLES WITH V6 ENGINES. THE FRONT WHEEL BEARING GREASE MAY NOT BE ADEQUATELY RETAINED IN THE FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS. INSUFFICIENT GREASE CAN CAUSE WHEEL BEARING FAILURE AND DAMAGE TO THE WHEEL SPINDLE. THIS MAY RESULT IN A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL.
On certain vehicles equipped with goodyear hr78-15 custom tread tires. Tires may develop tread separation.
On certain Monza 2+2, Skyhawk and Starfire vehicles, the strength of the conventional spare tire hold down "J" bolt may be inadequate in the event of a severe frontal collision. If such a collision occurs, the "J" bolt could straighten and the spare tire and wheel come loose and travel forward into the passenger area of the vehicle, increasing the possibility of occupant injury. Vehicles produced with the space-saver spare tire are also being included in this campaign even though the space-saver spare tire is stored in a well in the body.
