LEFT DRIVE SHAFT MAY DEVELOP CRACKS, AND MAY BREAK UNDER HEAVY LOADING SUCH AS THAT CAUSED BY RAPID ACCELERATION. THIS DEFECT ORIGINATED IN A MANUFACTURING PROCESS WHICH HAS NOW BEEN IMPROVED. Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE LEFT DRIVE SHAFT ON VEHICLES THAT HAVE NOT BEEN PREVIOUSLY CORRECTED, AT NO CHARGE.
PRODUCTION TOLERANCE ERRORS COULD ALLOW ACCIDENTAL HOOD OPENING. IF THE HOOD IS NOT SECURELY LATCHED IN THE FULLY LOCKED POSITION, DRIVING AT HIGH SPEED OR HITTING A LARGE BUMP COULD CAUSE THE HOOD TO OPEN WITHOUT WARNING. Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE DEFECTIVE HOOD LATCHES AT NO CHARGE.
UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS, MECHANICAL FUEL PUMPS MAY DEVELOP FUEL LEAKAGE AT CRIMPED SEAM BETWEEN THE TWO FUEL PUMP HALVES. Remedy: INSTALL AN IMPROVED FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY.
We checked Transport Canada's recall database for this make, model and year.

On certain vehicles, the mechanically operated fuel pump on carburated engine may eventually develop a fuel leak at the crimped seam between the two fuel pump halves. This could result in an engine compartment fire. Correction: An improved fuel pump will be installed.
On certain vehicles, the left side driveshaft could develop a crack at the boot locator groove. During high speed stress situations such as rapid acceleration or deceleration the shaft could break causing a sudden loss of power.
On certian vehicles, production tolerance errors in the hood safety catch could allow accidental hood opening. If the hood is not securely latched in the full lock position, driving at high speed or hitting a large bump could cause the hood to open suddenly blocking the driver's vision.
