THE TUBE PORTION OF THE STEERING COLUMN HAS A WELDED END WHICH IS 3.5 INCHES LONG INSTEAD OF THE SPECIFIED 5.5 INCHES. WITH THE SHORTER END IT IS POSSIBLE THERE IS INSUFFICIENT ENGAGEMENT OF THE MALE END INTO THE TUBE PORTION AND SEPARATION OF THE COLUMN COULD OCCUR. THIS WOULD RESULT IN LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL AND A POSSIBLE VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. CORRECTION: INCORRECTLY BUILT STEERING COLUMNS WILL BE REPLACED WITH A NEW STEERING COLUMN.
