On certain vehicles, the tie rod end can pull outboard and separate from the tie rod tube due to improper thread engagement between the male tie rod end and the female tube. A separation of the tie rod end could result in loss of steering control and a possible crash. Correction: The complete tie rod assembly will be replaced on involved vehicles.
On certain vehicles, the high pressure oil line for the fuel injection system that goes from the high pressure oil pump to the right cylinder head can abrade and fail due to rubbing on the charge air cooler crossover pipe. This would result in a sudden loss of oil and if the vehicle is being operated at the time, the engine could have a sudden loss of power without warning, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash. Correction: Vehicles will be inspected and a convoluted hose will be placed over undamaged hoses. Damaged hoses will be replaced and a convoluted hose will be added.
On certain vehicels, a fuel leak could occur during normal operation because of over crimping of the hose end fittings on the hose from the regulator to the left head and the hose from the fuel transfer pump to the regulator. Should a fuel leak occur on a hot engine, a fire could result. Correction: Fuel hoses will be replaced with properly crimped hoses.
