Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling various 2003-2018 Crossroads, Dutchmen, and Keystone recreational trailers equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V755-5127.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. On certain vehicles equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. Note: For more information about recalled fire extinguishers, please visit <a href="https://inmarmarketaction.com/kidde/Kidde284CA/">www.kidde.com</a>.
On certain fifth wheel and travel trailers manufactured prior to Aug 18, 2008, the required weight label was omitted. Correction: Since the information contained in this label can also be found on the vehicle's inside and outside weight labels, no further action is required.
On certain vehicles equipped with a gasoline generator, if the battery in the Carbon Monoxide (CO) detector goes dead or is removed, the detector will not function and therefore cannot warn occupants if CO levels reach a harmful level. Correction: Dealers will install a hard wired 12 volt CO detector in the vehicle. This will ensure the CO detector will have voltage supplied for proper operation when the generator is running.
