Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling various 2003-2018 Crossroads, Dutchmen, and Keystone recreational trailers equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V755-5127.pdf. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. On certain vehicles equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. Note: For more information about recalled fire extinguishers, please visit <a href="https://inmarmarketaction.com/kidde/Kidde284CA/">www.kidde.com</a>.
On certain fifth wheel and travel trailers equipped with a Dometic Corporation refrigerator, a fatigue crack can develop in the boiler tube. This could allow the release of pressurized coolant solution into an area where an ignition source is present, which could result in a fire. Correction: Dealers will install a secondary burner housing.
On certain vehicles equipped with a gasoline generator, if the battery in the Carbon Monoxide (CO) detector goes dead or is removed, the detector will not function and therefore cannot warn occupants if CO levels reach a harmful level. Correction: Dealers will install a hard wired 12 volt CO detector in the vehicle. This will ensure the CO detector will have voltage supplied for proper operation when the generator is running.
Certain fifth wheel and travel trailers may experience wheel rim failure due to poor weld quality and insufficient press fit between the wheel rim and disc. The wheels could break while in use, which could result in vehicle instability and may lead to a crash. Correction: Dealers will replace defective rims.

On certain fifth wheel and travel trailers, the furnace may not be secured and the gasket that seals the furnace to the floor duct system may be missing. The furnace could move away from the outside wall and disconnect from the exhaust outlet. If this occurs, exhaust gasses will enter the interior of the vehicle when the furnace is operating. Correction: Dealers will install the furnace correctly, securing it to the floor with a gasket sealing the furnace to the heat duct.
