On certain fifth wheel and travel trailers, the certification labels do not contain correct tire/wheel size and maximum inflation data. The labels indicate tire size ST225/75R15D, 15 X 6 rim and maximum inflation pressure of 50 psi / 345 kPa, instead should list ST235/80R15D, 16 X 6 rim with a maximum inflation of 65 psi / 448 kPa. Correction: Dealers will install updated labels.
Certain fifth wheel and travel trailers were equipped with 16" X 7" rims instead of the specified 16" X 6" rims. The wider rim does not allow proper clearance between the shock absorber, shock brackets and the tire. This reduced clearance may cause the tire to rub on the chassis resulting in tire failure. This failure may result in loss of control and a vehicle crash. Correction: Dealers will replace the wheels and tires of affected vehicles.
