Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling various 2003-2018 Crossroads, Dutchmen, and Keystone recreational trailers equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V755-5127.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf Remedy: Keystone will notify owners and instruct them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. On certain vehicles equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. Note: For more information about recalled fire extinguishers, please visit www.kidde.com.
Certain travel trailers may have been manufactured with a defective transfer switch. Travel trailer operation in high ambient temperatures could cause the wiring in the switch to fail and overheat increasing the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the transfer switch.
On certain fifth wheel trailers equipped with a generator-ready option, elevated electrical loads (associated with RV use in higher ambient temperatures) could cause the power transfer switch to fail. This could allow the transfer switch to overheat and melt, which could result in a fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the transfer switch.
On certain fifth wheel and travel trailers equipped with a generator-ready option, if the fasteners on the power transfer switch are not tightened to proper specifications, the elevated electrical loads associated with RV use in higher ambient temperatures may cause overheating of the lugs and degrading of the electrical connections. This condition may result in further degradation of the electrical connections, elevated case temperatures and an increased risk of appliance and other property damage. Correction: Dealers will inspect the transfer switch for evidence of heat damage and verify the fastener torque. If the inspection reveals evidence of heat damage, the switch will be replaced.

On certain fifth wheel trailers, the Federal Identification Label and the Tire & Loading Information Label do not contain correct tire inflation pressure values. The labels indicates a maximum inflation pressure at 800 psi but instead should read 80 psi. Improper tire pressure can lead to tire failure which, in turn, can result in a vehicle crash causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Updated labels will be mailed to owners of affected vehicles along with instructions for proper installation.
On certain fifth wheel and travel trailers manufactured prior to Aug 18, 2008, the required weight label was omitted. Correction: Since the information contained in this label can also be found on the vehicle's inside and outside weight labels, no further action is required.
