On certain vehicles equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. On certain travel trailers, the wiring for the air conditioner may not have been installed properly. This could cause the thermostat wiring to potentially short circuit, which would increase the risk of a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect, and reroute/separate the wiring at the control box of the air conditioner unit as necessary.
On certain fifth wheel and travel trailers, the Atwood 35-series range oven, model number beginning with RV1735, RV2135, RA1735, or RA2135, may develop a small crack within the line delivering gas to the oven cavity burner. A propane leak, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire and/or explosion, causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the oven supply tube.
