Entegra Coach (Entegra) is recalling certain 2011-2012 and 2015-2016 Aspire built on Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) chassis. The power steering hose on the affected vehicles may be routed incorrectly, and, as a result, the hose may rub against the power stud on the starter motor, possibly causing electrical arcing and a power steering fluid leak. Remedy: Entegra will notify owners, and Freightliner dealers will reroute the power steering hose to provide proper clearance, free of charge. The recall began on May 1, 2018. Owners may contact Entegra customer service at 1-800-517-9137.
Entegra Coach (Entegra) is recalling certain 2015-2016 Aspire and 2017-2018 Insignia motorhomes built on a Spartan chassis. The air brake supply reservoir is less than 12x the combined volume of air for all service brake chambers. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, "Air Brake Systems." Remedy: Entegra will notify owners, and Spartan service centers will replace the current air supply reservoir with one that has twice the capacity, free of charge. The recall began on February 16, 2018. Owners may contact Spartan Chassis at 1-800-543-4277 or Entegra customer service at 1-800-517-9137.

The throttle pedal position sensor on the affected vehicles may not return to zero, causing the engine brake to suddenly not activate as expected, reducing the vehicle's deceleration ability. Remedy: Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA), manufacturer of the motorhome chassis, has notified owners, and DTNA dealers will replace the throttle pedal, free of charge. The recall began on August 15, 2016. Owners may contact Entegra customer service at 1-800-945-4787 or Daimler Warranty Campaign Department at 1-800-547-0712 or email DTNA.Warranty.Campaigns@Daimler.com.

On these vehicles, equipped with a heavier, adjustable foot pedal, the brake activation signal to certain towed devices may not deactivate when the motorhome service brakes are released. Remedy: Daimler Trucks will notify owners, and their dealers will modify the affected brake assemblies, free of charge. The recall began on June 6, 2016 . Owners may contact Entegra customer service at 1-800-945-4787 or Daimler Trucks customer service at 1-800-547-0712.

The Cummins ISB or ISL engines in these vehicles may have been equipped with Fleetguard UFF-XT fuel filters, part number FF63009, whose filter shell may separate from the fuel filter nut plate causing the engine to stall without warning. Remedy: Entegra will notify owners, and Spartan Chassis dealers will work with Cummins to replace the fuel filter with a non-defective one, free of charge. The recall began during October 2014. Owners may contact Entegra customer service at 1-800-945-4787.

Issue: On certain motorhomes, the reservoir tank for the air brake system is too small. In certain situations, this could cause reduced braking. Canadian regulations require enough air reservoir capacity to ensure the brakes work even with heavy use, or when there is a partial loss of the air system. Safety Risk: Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Jayco will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a Spartan RV authorized service facility to replace the air reservoir tank.
On certain vehicles built on a Freightliner XBR chassis, a rubber-coated braided power steering hose may have inadequate clearance to the starter power stud due to incorrect routing. This could cause the power steering hose to rub against the stud on the starter motor, which could cause an electrical arc and a power steering fluid leak. A power steering leak in the presence of an electrical arc could increase the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property. A power steering fluid leak could also require additional steering effort which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Daimler Trucks of North America Service Facilities will reroute the power steering hose to ensure proper clearance to starter stud.
Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 121 - Air Brake Systems. The combined volume of air in all service and supply reservoirs does not meet requirements of the standard. This may provide an insufficient air supply to properly operate the brakes during repetitive brake applications, reducing braking performance, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the 500 cubic inches supply reservoir (wet tank) with a 1000 cubic inches supply reservoir.

On certain motor homes equipped with Cummins ISL engines, the fuel filter shell and nut plate could separate, causing a fuel leak and also causing the engine to stall. Stalling would result in a loss of motive power, increasing the risk of a crash resulting in injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Authorized Spartan Chassis service centers will replace the fuel filter.
