Maserati North America, Inc. (Maserati) is recalling certain 2017 Levante vehicles. The engine software may cause the transmission to shift to neutral, or the engine to shut down, when the vehicle speed is approximately two miles per hour. Remedy: Maserati will notify owners, and dealers will update the engine control software, free of charge. The recall began on January 6, 2017. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 1-877-696-2737. Maserati's number for this recall is 338.

Certain vehicles may contain an engine software defect which could cause the transmission to revert back to neutral or the engine to turn off and low speeds, such as in heavy traffic conditions. This could cause a loss of motive power which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the engine control module.
