Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the vehicle is reversing. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the SYNC software.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the engine oil pump tensioner and/or the engine oil pump drive belt could fail and cause a loss of engine oil pressure. If this happens, the engine could fail and cause a loss of power to the wheels and a loss of power braking assist. Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 1.0L engine. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. A loss of power brakes can cause an increase in brake pedal force and lead to an increase in stopping distance. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the oil pump drive belt tensioner assembly. The dealer will also replace the oil pump drive belt.
Issue: On one vehicle, there may be a problem with the passenger-front airbag inflator. As a result, the airbag may not deploy properly in a crash. Safety Risk: An airbag that does not work properly could create an increased risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify the owner and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the passenger-front airbag module.

Due to a manufacturing issue, the brake booster can be assembled with too much pressure applied to the diaphragm plate. As a result, the diaphragm plate can crack, causing the internal membrane to split. This will lead to a sudden loss of brake performance, increasing the risk of an accident. Production: The affected vehicles were manufactured between 14 and 28 January 2020 (Focus), between 14 and 27 January 2020 (Ecosport), between 22 and 26 January 2020 (Transit Connect). Types: Type-approval numbers: e1*2007/46*0272*22, e13*2007/46*1911*06, e9*2007/46*0092*29.
