The diesel particulate filter (DPF) may be cracked on 2.0 l EcoBlue Diesel and 1.5 l EcoBlue vehicles. This could cause the vehicles to fail the legally required roadworthiness test, as exhaust emissions of soot may be above the authorised limit. An internal short circuit may occur in the cells of the high-voltage battery which can lead to a fire. In addition, a loss of propulsion power may occur, increasing the risk of accidents and injuries. Production: 02.08.2019 - 02.03.2026. Types: DFK; e13*2007/46*2188*02-*13.
Due to a manufacturing defect, the internal battery separator can become damaged over time by repeated charging and discharging cycles of the cells. This can cause the high voltage battery cells to develop an internal short circuit. This creates a risk of the vehicle catching fire. Moreover, the short circuit can cause a loss of propulsion power, increasing the risk of accidents and injuries. Production: 20.08.2019 - 28.11.2023. Types: e13*2007/46*2188*02-*03, *05-*13 (DFK).

The cooling airflow is insufficient, causing the oil channel to be blocked. This leads the connecting rod bearing to seize and the connecting rod to tear off. This can deteriorate the combustion engine, resulting in a rupture in the engine oil tank or engine block, creating an oil tank leak. This increases the risk of fire under the bonnet. Production: Galaxy / S-Max: 04.08.2020 - 01.03.2023; Kuga: 23.07.2019 - 20.04.2023. Types: e13*2007/46*2188*00-*12, e13*2001/116*0185*43-*44.
A piston rod may rupture the engine block and cause an oil leakage. The leaking oil can stay trapped in the lower engine guard and cause a fire due to its proximity to the catalytic converter of the exhaust system. Production: 02.08.2019 - 13.06.2022. Types: e13*2007/46*2188*00-*12 (DFK).
