A fault in the hydraulic control unit of the ABS system may cause an incorrect pressure reading. This could inadvertently activate the brake light, deactivate the ABS and ESP, and allow the vehicle to start and shift out of Park without the brake pedal being depressed, increasing the risk of unintended vehicle movement, accidents and injury. Production: 11.06.2018 - 02.07.2019. Types: WK; e4*2007/46*0186*24-*27.
An incorrectly fitted rear coil spring may detach from the vehicle, which could affect vehicle handling and create a hazard for following traffic. This increases the risk of accidents and injuries. Production: 05.12.2020 - 31.05.2023. Types: WL; e9*2018/858*11257*01.
The separator of the high voltage battery may be damaged. This may lead to cell failure and increase the risk of fire. Production: 01.07.2020 - 25.11.2025. Types: e4*2001/116*0116*38-*42 (JK), e9*2018/858*11257*00-*02 (WL).
The high-voltage battery pack can contain cells having separator damage. A damaged separator can lead to a very rapid chemical chain reaction in the battery. This can cause the battery to overheat, which can start a fire in the vehicle. Production: 01.07.2020 - 16.11.2023. Types: e4*2001/116*0116*38-*42 (JK); e9*2018/858*11257*00-*02 (WL).
The exhaust-gas recirculation (EGR) cooler can be susceptible to thermal fatigue. The exhaust gases can interact with air and other hydrocarbons in the system, which can cause combustion in the inlet manifold. This can lead the vehicle to catch fire. Production: 09.10.2018 - 02.06.2020. Types: Individual approval.
The upper control arm clamping screw may have been damaged during vehicle assembly. If it breaks, the clamping force between the control arm ball joint and the steering knuckle could be lost. This could cause the wheel to detach, creating a risk of accidents and injuries. Production: 03.12.2020 - 30.05.2023. Types: WL; e9*2018/858*11257*01.
