Issue: On certain vehicles, the window trim on the rear doors may not be properly attached. As a result, the window trim could loosen and separate from the vehicle. Safety Risk: Window trim that detaches from the vehicle could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the window trim on the rear doors and repair them, if necessary.
Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with Michelin Primacy Tour A/S tires, the maximum tire pressure listed on the sidewall of the tire is lower than the maximum tire pressure specified on the tire loading and information label and on the gas tank cap. The placard lists a maximum pressure of 320 kPa (47 psi) instead of 300 kPa (44 psi). Canadian regulations require this information to be consistent on both the labels and tires. Safety Risk: This error does not affect vehicle safety. Michelin has indicated that the tires can be operated safely up to a maximum pressure of 350 kPa (51 psi). Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. Mercedes-Benz has corrected the tire loading and information label on all new vehicles.
Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with the emergency calling (eCall) system, the SIM card for the communications module could disable itself. If this happens, the eCall system would not work properly when there is a crash or when the SOS button is pressed. Safety Risk: If the eCall system does not work in an emergency situation, there could be a delay in response from emergency services. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to each vehicle. If the update cannot be completed successfully, you will be notified to schedule an appointment to have the update performed by a dealer.
Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to appear on the central display. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse gear. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that does not display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the rearview camera software.

The 48V ground connection under the passenger seat may have become detached in the assembly process. This can increase electrical transition resistance at the point of connection. This can lead to an overheated ground connection and create a risk of fire. Production: 16.03.2017 - 07.01.2023. Types: H1GLE; e1*2007/46*1885*00 to *18.
The necessary brake pedal force may have to be increased under specific conditions (including electric driving in wet weather). If the driver does not brake harder, this could make the braking distance longer, increasing the risk of an accident. Production: 4.4.2019 - 27.10.2023. Types: e1*2007/46*1885*07-*22 (H1GLE).

Issue: On certain vehicles, a ground connection under the front passenger seat may not have been properly tightened. As a result, the connection and wiring could overheat. Safety Risk: A loose or overheated wire connection could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect, and if necessary, tighten the ground connection for the 48 V electrical system under the front passenger seat.
Issue: On certain vehicles, small particles could damage the seals between the fuel rail and fuel injectors. If this happens, there could be a fuel leak in the engine compartment. Safety Risk: A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the fuel rail and fuel injectors.
Issue: On certain vehicles, a label on the headlamp assembly may contain incorrect information for a service technician. As a result, the headlamps may not get adjusted correctly after a repair. This could cause glare and/or confusion for oncoming drivers. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with LED headlamps. Safety Risk: Headlamps that cause glare or confusion for oncoming drivers could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Action: Mercedez-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the headlamps.
Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to each vehicle. If the update cannot be completed successfully, you will be notified to schedule an appointment to have the update performed by a dealer.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the air conditioning drain hose might be installed incorrectly. This could allow water to leak inside the vehicle. If this happens, electrical components could short circuit. This could affect different parts, such as the door locks and emergency call (eCall) system. It could also result in reduced engine power or cause the vehicle not to start. Note: If this issue is present in your vehicle, you might notice wet carpets in the driver or passenger footwell and fogged windows. Safety Risk: A loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. If the doors cannot be unlocked in an emergency situation, it may be difficult to exit the vehicle. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect how the air conditioning hose is installed and correct it, if necessary. Mercedes-Benz recommends that you should not use the air conditioning until the vehicle is inspected.
Issue: On certain vehicles, there may be a problem with the programming of the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) system. Canadian regulations have minimum performance requirements for stability control systems. Safety Risk: A stability control system that does not work properly could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) software.
Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with the emergency calling (eCall) system, the communications module may temporarily lose power during a crash. If this happens, the wrong vehicle location may be transmitted through the eCall system. This could cause emergency responders to be sent to the wrong location. Safety Risk: If the eCall system sends out the wrong location after a crash, there could be a delay in response from emergency services. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air update to each vehicle. If the update cannot be completed successfully, you will be notified to schedule an appointment to have the update performed by a dealer.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the left backup light could stay on when the transmission is not in reverse gear. Safety Risk: A reverse light that does not work properly could result in road users being confused of the driver's intentions, and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the control unit for the left rear tail lamp.
Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the head unit software.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the seat belt buckle for the second-row middle seat may be pushed into the gap between the vehicle body and the seat cushion. If this happens, the seat occupant would not be able to latch the seat belt. Safety Risk: Being unable to latch your seat belt can increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to adjust the positioning of the second-row middle seat belt buckle. Note: Passengers should hold the seat belt buckle with one hand when fastening the seat belt.
Issue: Certain vehicles may not display the correct warning indicator when there is a problem with the brake system. As a result, the brake system malfunction indicator lamp ("BRAKE") might be displayed instead of the required indicator lamp ("(!)"). Canadian regulations require the use of a symbol, instead of text. Safety Risk: This small error does not affect the function of the brake system or the accuracy of the information displayed. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. Mercedes Benz has made changes to ensure that all new vehicles display the correct brake system malfunction indicator symbol.
The air conditioner may be faulty, which can lead to short circuits and/or fire. The automatic emergency call (eCall) may fail and the vehicle may not unlock and/or start. The emergency engine operation mode can be activated while driving. These errors create risks of injury. Production: 29.08.2018 - 02.02.2021. Types: H1GLE; e1*2007/46*1885*00-*12.
