The 48V ground connection under the passenger seat may have become detached in the assembly process. This can increase electrical transition resistance at the point of connection. This can lead to an overheated ground connection and create a risk of fire. Production: 16.03.2017 - 07.01.2023. Types: H1GLE; e1*2007/46*1885*00 to *18.
A bolt on the 12 Volt earthing cable under the driver’s seat may become loose, leading to increased electrical contact resistance in that area. The strong electrical currents flowing through that point could cause a local increase in temperature, leading to fire. Moreover, the increase in contact resistance may also deactivate the ECO start/stop function, leading to increased exhaust emissions. Production: 9.02.2021 – 29.12.2021. Types: H1GLE; e1*2007/46*1885*12-*14.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the fuel delivery module could fail. If this happens, the engine may run rough or may not start. This could also result in a sudden loss of engine power while driving. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the fuel delivery module.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the air conditioning drain hose might be installed incorrectly. This could allow water to leak inside the vehicle. If this happens, electrical components could short circuit. This could affect different parts, such as the door locks and emergency call (eCall) system. It could also result in reduced engine power or cause the vehicle not to start. Note: If this issue is present in your vehicle, you might notice wet carpets in the driver or passenger footwell and fogged windows. This is an expansion of Transport Canada Recall 2021-247. Safety Risk: A loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. If the doors cannot be unlocked in an emergency situation, it may be difficult to exit the vehicle. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect how the air conditioning hose is installed and correct it, if necessary. Mercedes-Benz recommends that you should not use the air conditioning until the vehicle is inspected.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the screw that attaches the steering coupling may not have been properly tightened. As a result, the steering coupling could detach from the steering shaft and cause a loss of steering control. Note: This problem may cause looseness in the steering or noises while driving on rough roads. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the steering coupling locking screw.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the window trim on the rear doors may not be properly attached. As a result, the window trim could loosen and separate from the vehicle. Safety Risk: Window trim that detaches from the vehicle could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the window trim on the rear doors and repair them, if necessary.
Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with Michelin Primacy Tour A/S tires, the maximum tire pressure listed on the sidewall of the tire is lower than the maximum tire pressure specified on the tire loading and information label and on the gas tank cap. The placard lists a maximum pressure of 320 kPa (47 psi) instead of 300 kPa (44 psi). Canadian regulations require this information to be consistent on both the labels and tires. Safety Risk: This error does not affect vehicle safety. Michelin has indicated that the tires can be operated safely up to a maximum pressure of 350 kPa (51 psi). Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. Mercedes-Benz has corrected the tire loading and information label on all new vehicles.
Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with the emergency calling (eCall) system, the SIM card for the communications module could disable itself. If this happens, the eCall system would not work properly when there is a crash or when the SOS button is pressed. Safety Risk: If the eCall system does not work in an emergency situation, there could be a delay in response from emergency services. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to each vehicle. If the update cannot be completed successfully, you will be notified to schedule an appointment to have the update performed by a dealer.
Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to appear on the central display. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse gear. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that does not display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the rearview camera software.
Issue: On certain vehicles, a ground connection under the front passenger seat may not have been properly tightened. As a result, the connection and wiring could overheat. Safety Risk: A loose or overheated wire connection could create the risk of a fire.
