Issue: On certain hybrid vehicles, a software problem could cause a sudden change in brake pedal feel and travel when the brakes are applied during a turn. This could cause temporary reduced braking. Safety Risk: Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Toyota will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the skid control ECU software.

This can lead users to experience a hard brake pedal with reduced braking force, increasing the brake stopping distance and creating a risk of accidents and injuries.
