Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2026-2027 E-350 and E-450 vehicles. The backup alarm connector may become loose and detach, preventing the alarm from sounding when the vehicle is backing up. Remedy: Dealers will replace the exterior sound connector on the frame wiring harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 17, 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26S12. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on March 4, 2026.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the electrical connector for the backup alarm could loosen and disconnect. As a result, the vehicle may not make a reverse warning sound when backing up. Note: This recall only affects certain incomplete vehicles. Safety Risk: A backup alarm that doesn't work correctly could create confusion and increase the risk of injury for other road users. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the exterior sounder connector on the frame wiring harness.
